In May 2015, Elder Jeffrey A. Turner was appointed Senior Pastor of the Kinston Church of God. Ever since that time he and his talented wife, First Lady Petheria Turner, have led the saints in Kinston to a fulfillment of the organizational mission of the Gospel Spreading Church: Go, Teach, Spread, Love.
Church focus and goals: We teach in our church to tell your story as the woman at the well did who went into her community and shared her personal experience of her encounter with Jesus. Elder Turner shares his personal experience: “This personally happened to me, and changed the community where I lived. People like me, who were broken and looking for hope, asked me to share my story – including my family. God said in Isaiah 43:10 ‘Ye are my witnesses!’ And Elder Turner truly is!
Personal Interest: Pastor Turner loves knowing and sharing the gospel. He says: “Nothing captivates my interest like the Word of God; it was in me from a child…I love seeing how it changes people.” He also loves to fish in his spare time.
Favorite Scripture: His favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 4:16. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
